Youth Forum of Europe's New Democracies "THE COMMUNITY OF DEMOCRATIC CHOICE"

Students' Association "RePublica" of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University is inviting to the international "Youth Forum of Europe's New Democracies: The Community of Democratic Choice", which is to take place in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on May 3-5, 2006. The meeting aims at stimulating mutual understanding and close cooperation between youth leaders of the Baltic-Black Sea region states, embodying and developing the idea of a permanent international youth forum.
It is a parallel event to the Baltic and Black Sea Region Summit in Vilnius (May, 2006); hence the idea is to draw together youth representatives from the same region. Future leaders will have an opportunity to discuss the views about the on-going democratization process and decide on the role of close international cooperation when meeting the new challenges of tomorrow.
Therefore we invite youth representatives from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Bulgaria, as well as democratic youth opposition from Belarus, to participate in the forum.
To be able to take part in this forum, applicants must match the following criteria:
- be 19-26 years old;
- have perfect English skills;
- actively participate in national youth politics and have an academic interest in international relations.
Candidates are required to submit the application form (please find attached) which includes an essay "How do I picture the purposes and the future of the Community of Democratic Choice and the place of my country in it". All participation costs (travel, accommodation, catering) are covered by the organizers.
